Conductor Peter Pil Won Suk received his bachelor in music
at the prestigious Seoul National University in 1976. 

Upon graduation, he went on to play the trumpet for various organizations in Seoul Korea such as the KBS Symphony Orchestra, Korean National Symphony Orchesra from
1976 – 1982. 

Conductor Suk also was a member and co-founder of the Seoul Wind Ensemble (1975 – 1982). 

During this period, Conductor Suk simultaneously taught music at Kang-Neung National University, Kun San National University, and Choo Kyu University.


In 1982, Conductor Suk along with accompanied by his wife and two children immigrated to Vancouver, Canada.  Conductor Suk enrolled in the Master’s program of music at the University of British Columbia.  In 1982, Conductor Suk also co-founded and conducted the Korean Adult Chorus, Youth Chorus and Orchestra under the name Korean – Canadian Cultural Association (1982 – 1986). 

The name was later changed to the Pilgrim Chorus and Orchestra.  Since 1982, under the name Pilgrim Chorus and Orchestra, Conductor Suk has conducted for joint concerts with prestigious companies as the Korean National Chorus Company, Soloist Ensemble, Seoul Wind Ensemble, Seoul Lady Singers, Seoul National Symphony Orchestra and performed with various professors and soloists such as Shin Hwan Kim, Mi-Ja Kang, Young-Mi Kim.

Conductor Suk has received awards of recognition from the Prime Minister of Korea and from the Asian Heritage Month Society for his contribution to the Korean Canadian community.  He is presently the artistic director for the Seoul National Symphony Orchestra, conductor for the Pilgrim Chorus and Orchestra, an advisory board committee member of the Vancouver Opera House, and the Principal of Pacific Coast School of Music.
